The cover for Abi Cushman’s ANIMALS GO VROOM! was featured on SLJ’s A Fuse #8 Production. Abi also appeared on episode 22 of The Picture Book Look podcast.
Three Soaring ‘20s books appeared on A Fuse #8 Production’s 2020 Math Books for Kids List: SEVEN GOLDEN RINGS (Rajani LaRocca), DOZENS OF DOUGHNUTS (Carrie Finison), and THE BLUNDERS (Christina Soontornvat).
Rajani LaRocca’s forthcoming middle grade, RED, WHITE, AND WHOLE, received a starred review from Booklist. The book was named a Most Anticipated Book of 2021 on the Kidlit These Days podcast.
Rajani also unboxed her next picture book, BRACELETS FOR BINA’S BROTHERS on YouTube.
Scholastic’s OOM blog featured a LAYLA AND THE BOTS from Vicky Fang. The series got an honorable mention from the Cybils committee in the Easy Reader/Early Chapter Book category.
Colleen Paeff (THE GREAT STINK: How Joseph Bazalgette Solved London’s Poop Pollution Problem) shared “5 Reasons Adults Should Read Nonfiction Picture Books” on her blog.
DOZENS OF DOUGHNUTS (Carrie Finison) graced BookRiot’s 20 Must Read Picture Books of 2020 and was a Cybils Award finalist in the fiction picture book category.
THE PASSOVER GUEST (Susan Kusel) was named a Spring 2021 Holiday Highlights title from the Association of Jewish Libraries. The book has received three starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, and Booklist. Susan and illustrator Sean Rubin appeared on The Children’s Book Podcast with Matthew Winner.

BEATRIX POTTER, SCIENTIST (Lindsay H. Metcalf), WOOD, WIRE, WINGS: Emma Lilian Todd Invents an Airplane (Kirsten W. Larson), and THE VOICE THAT WON THE VOTE (Elisa Boxer) made A Mighty Girl's 2020 Books of the Year list.
NO VOICE TOO SMALL (Lindsay H. Metcalf) was a Cybils Finalist for Elementary Nonfiction. The book also received a Nerdy Book Award for Poetry and Verse Novels (along with A PLACE INSIDE OF ME, illus. Noa Denmon), appeared on Mrs. Knott’s Book Nook 2020 Favorites, and received a great review from Librarian’s Quest. NVTS also appeared on two year-end book lists from SLJ’s A Fuse #8 Production: Books With a Message and Children’s Poetry.
FARMER’S UNITE (Lindsay H. Metcalf) and ALL THIRTEEN (Christina Soontornvat) appeared on Fuse #8’s 2020 Nonfiction for Older Readers. You'll also find FARMER’S UNITE on the 2020 American History Titles for Kids list.
Jen Malia was on the Rad Child Podcast discussing how to talk to kids about autism and Too Sticky! The book was named to Book Riot’s Read Harder list with disabled characters. Two of Jen’s personal essays will appear on newsstands March 26th as part of The New York Times special edition magazine, “Understanding Autism.” Stay tuned!
