Happy book birthday to our February new releases
Plus cover reveals, new book deals, and events across the country
Fall in love with these February titles:
Blink and Block Build a Fort, the latest in the Friendbots series by Vicky Fang. Kirkus Reviews says this series, “amply demonstrates the values of a positive attitude and a little creative thinking.”
I Am Osage by Kim Rogers, illustrated by Bobby Von Martin. Kirkus Reviews says “Rogers' storytelling brings to life a kindhearted, resilient historical figure who was devoted to his community.”
Best Believe by NoNieqa Ramos, illustrated by Nicole Medina. In its starred review, Booklist says, “The sisters' fiery spirit runs through the text, which frankly calls out disparities and celebrates the Tres Hermanas' many victories as they passionately defended the rights of Puerto Rican Americans and lifted up their culture.”
Relit: 16 Latinx Remixes of Classic Stories with NoNieqa Ramos contributing. These sixteen stories by award-winning and bestselling YA authors center a Latinx point of view in an empowering anthology that reimagines classics through fantasy, science fiction, and with a dash of magic.

Welcome back to our series, 20 QUESTIONS!,
where we answer questions about writing, reading, and author life.
(Note that we enjoy the series so much we’ve decided to just keep the questions coming!)
This month’s question:
Where do you like to write?
“I write whenever/wherever I get the chance, sometimes at one of my local libraries, sometimes at the Y while waiting for my daughter, sometimes at the kitchen table while keeping an eye on the puppy. But my ideal spot is up in the office we added to our 1860s barn. The meadow view keeps me happy, and I’ve got binoculars for wildlife watching.” —Melanie Ellsworth, author of BATTLE OF THE BOOKS, illustrated by James Rey Sanchez (little bee books, 2022)
